{short description of image}Welcome to the Web Site of the Big Ian Petrie Band !!!!!!

{short description of image}Browse this site to learn more about the Big Ian Petrie Band...working out of Kent in the UK, the boys make up a folk rock and country dance band that perform extensively across the country

Ian, Steve Shorey, Ted Handley and Vince Herbert have been mainstays on the South East Folk club circuit for over 30 years , together they bring more years of experience than they care to think about in performing for ; folk clubs, festivals, barn dances, celidhs and private functions. In recent years they have specialised in barn dances with a little rock and roll thrown in!!. This has proved immensely popular at private parties where the musical variety caters for all tastes.

You dont need to have attended a barn dance before to have a go, and no you dont need to dress up..Ian and the band have played hundreds of gigs for people who have never been to a barn dance and they always have a great time - try something different from the disco at your next party - have some fun!!

Ian's solo performace pedigree goes back to the early 70's and he has had stints with the Skinners Rats folk band and played the farthest reaches of the UK , with regular forays to Belgium, France and Spain. Ian is available as a solo performer, duo, trio or the full four piece depending on the engagement. Book now for late 2011 or call Ian for a chat (about gigs obviously!!)
